Help us tackle domestic abuse

Monday, November 02, 2026

Wakefield Council is encouraging everyone in the district to help shape the Council’s new domestic abuse strategy.

The survey aims to identify the types of support people need the most. Any feedback shared is entirely confidential. And will help shape the development of a new plan for the district, designed to help prevent domestic abuse and improve support for those affected by it.

“Domestic abuse, in all its forms, can have a devastating impact on victims, survivors and their families.

“It’s essential that we know how best we can support residents across the district, so people can recognise abusive situations, feel empowered to speak out and are able to access the right help as soon as they need it.”

Cllr Ansar Hayat

Cabinet Member for Adults and Health

Cllr Ansar Hayat

The survey is open to all residents of Wakefield district until 30 November. It only takes a few minutes to complete and all responses are anonymous.
