Municipal Waste Management Strategy

Wakefield Council's Municipal Waste Management Strategy (MWMS) was approved in 2003 and set the strategic direction for the procurement and delivery of the Council's long-term waste management arrangements.

Since that time, waste legislation, policy, service delivery arrangements and performance requirements have changed significantly. As a result, the Municipal Waste Management Strategy is no longer maintained as a current policy document and may contain information that is out of date.

The Council's waste disposal services are delivered through the Waste Management Contract, which continues to provide the framework for the treatment and disposal of municipal waste within the district.
